The inaugural Tavs Tas Inclusion Shield – Nth-Sth Challenge was a huge success!
Tavs Tas, through our Inclusive Community Fund,™ and in collaboration with New Horizons and Special Olympics, proudly presented the inaugural TTiS Nth-Sth Challenge on Sunday 25th November, 2018.
The first TTiS was a wash-out, but thanks to Mark Divin at the High Performance Cricket Centre, the game was played indoors.
Talented players from the Nth and Sth of the State came together to mark the first of a new style of inclusion cricket competition. The TTiS is now a mainstream event, attracting the best male and female players within the disability community, in the pursuit of State representation.
The TTiS is an integrated event as part of the Hurricanes Inclusion Cup pathway, which ultimately leads to the selection of our Tasmanian Inclusion Team to play in the National Cricket Inclusion Championships. Nathan Lion, the NCIC Ambassador, is spreading the word – that cricket is a sport for everyone! #sportforall
Local media covered the story, with more to come in 2019. Listen to Robert Bilyk, Dept Chair Tavs Tas, talk about the TTiS on ABC Evenings.
